Ode to a Christmas Star

This was the year that I wasn’t supposed to work on you. We were not going to hang out for unaccounted hours in the shop while I rebuilt you. But here we are my old friend and what a lot of memories you’ve brought. It will indeed take some time as we pass them back and forth. The year I built you My Dad kept checking in to see my progress. He kept calling you a Cross and indeed you looked like one, much to my annoyance. What seemed like such a simple idea in my head turned out to be a lot harder in reality and I suppose in that sense you are in addition to being a magnificent star, a cross.
