For our last six weeks in Peru, the group split up and traveled all over the country for voluntary service. I was sent to Caraz, a small town in the mountain region of Huaylas. Surrounded by two giant mountain ranges, the scenery was absolutely breathtaking. I worked with two engineers working to educate the local farmers about how to grow cuy, or guinea pigs, which are a Peruvian delicacy.
